Literature Text

Tears flowing, fast and hard,
Breath coming in ragged starts.
Termination of a little life
Otherwise free of pain and strife.
A gift of wonder, covered in blood,
Now buried six deep in cherry wood.
Poor little darling; the mother's in tears,
This end will begin her worst of fears.
The death of an unborn child means pain,
A deep black hole that will always remain.
I was thinking about abortion, and started to write.

it sounds a bit more like miscarriage.
they don't put abortions in coffins - they seal them up in plastic bags and cremate them.

i like the sentiment expressed in this short poem - it manages to succinctly explore the impact on the mother, the ideas surrounding childbirth, and the act of abortion itself - pro-choice, yet not all neat and clean and safe and sane.
